Next Generation DAF XF arrives at Abbey

We are delighted to have finally taken delivery of seven New Generation DAF XF 450 FTP tractor units, as part of our ongoing fleet replacement programme. The new trucks continue the long-standing relationship between DAF Trucks and Abbey Logistics.

Also joining the fleet are four previous generation DAF XF truck which we are very familiar with and are extremely popular with our driver team.

It needs to be safe, comfortable and spec’d to a high standard with the right equipment and facilities a driver would need when out on the road. We believe the next-generation DAF XF trucks are some of the highest quality vehicles on the market today, so we are pleased to be amongst the first UK operators to add them to our fleet.

The new DAF XF trucks are fitted with the all-new DAF Digital Vision System, which replaces the main and wide-angle door mirrors with retractable roof-mounted cameras and in-cab screens. The system provides outstanding visibility in all weather conditions and provides access to a few additional features, such as auto-panning and an extra-wide-angle view.

TV’s Fridges and Microwaves to be a feature on all new vehicles

Through regular feedback with our driver team, we know what features they want to see in a truck. For the first time we have specified fridges and microwaves and had TVs professionally fitted by an aftermarket installer on the trucks, and these features will be in our standard specification on all new units going forward.

Up to this month, we’d seen models of it, we had one for a photo shoot, we even took one to a truck show, thankfully the next generation DAF XF is here and already working hard in our bulk liquids and powder fleets.

It’s been a long wait, but definitely worth it.
