This transaction includes the property and operating facilities located at Ditton Road, Widnes, which is ideally situated next to the Mersey Multimodal Gateway and complements Abbey Logistics Group’s current Liverpool base, which acts as the main service and support depot in the Liverpool city region. Abbey Logistics Group has today announced that Belgium based food logistics specialist Sitra Group has acquired the company for an undisclosed sum. Established in 1962, Sitra Group is a family-owned business with a 2022 turnover of 165 million euros and employs approximately 1,150 people across 11 countries, including the UK. They operate 700 owned trucks and over 2,000 trailers/containers including liquid and powder food tankers. News: Abbey Extends Its ADM Oil Seeds Transport Contract

Abbey Logistics Group has extended its contract with ADM (Archer Daniel Midlands) Oil Seeds contract for a further 3 years. ADM is one of the worlds largest food companies supplying human and animal nutrition with sales in excess of $60bn. The contract involves the transportation of bulk oils and fats such as rapeseed and palm oil from the ADM sites in Erith and Purfleet to customers across the UK and Northern Europe.
